JoyFM began broadcasting on December 21st, 2000, with our first song being “I Woke Up This Morning” by New Journey. The station began with only two full-time employees.

JoyFM operates under the direction of Positive Alternative Radio Inc, a non-profit listener supported radio ministry based in Blacksburg, VA. Currently, JoyFM broadcasts on 3,000 watts to the West Virginia and Ohio areas. Our main office and studios are located at 303 8th Street in Pt. Pleasant, WV. We currently have 4 full-time and 2 part-time employees on staff.

Our loyal listeners, and business underwriters support the ministry at JoyFM. Faith pledges for monetary support are received twice per year, during our Spring & Fall Share-A-Thons.

We are proud to play only the best in Southern Gospel Music. It is our belief that the Gospel message found in the songs of Southern Gospel is clear, and easy to understand. In the future, our purpose and mission remains to follow God's direction on the ministry, while keeping the traditional routine our listeners enjoy.
